Lists of School Supplies
The following grade-level school supply lists are a general guide for what will be needed in each grade level here at HCS.
You will receive a more detailed, updated list with your child’s teacher letter. There will be more items listed on that updated list that will need to be purchased.
Keep in mind that many of these supplies will need to be checked and replenished throughout the year as most will be used all year.
Please don’t hesitate to call if you have any questions.
2026 – 2027 School Supplies list
Jr. Kindergarten
Please have the following for the first day of school
- Over-the-ear headphones in a Ziploc bag with your child’s name written on it.
- Due to limited space, a regular sized, non-rolling backpack.
- Nap Mat with blanket attached.
The following items are provided for by the school.
- Jumbo pencils
- Jumbo erasers
- Pack of crayons
- Jumbo glue sticks
- Large markers
- Large box of colored pencils
- Water colors
- Plastic student folder
- Thin and thick dry erase markers
2026 – 2027 School Supplies list
Kindergarten
The only items you will need to provide for your Kindergartner will be:
- Over-the-ear headphones with your child’s name written on them
- Due to limited space, a regular sized, non-rolling backpack
Each student will be given a “School Starter Packet” which will provide the rest of the necessary supplies to begin the school year.
The packet will include the following and more:
- Large pencils
- Jumbo erasers
- Pack of crayons
- Jumbo glue sticks
- Pack of markers
- Pack of colored pencils
- Water colors
- Plastic folders
- Thin black dry erase markers
- Small whiteboard
- Safety scissors
- Play-Doh
- Felt erasers for dry erase markers
Your student will receive a fresh set of supplies at the start of every trimester as needed.

First Grade
Please have the following for the first day of school
- Over-the-ear headphones in a Ziploc bag with your child’s name written on it.
- Due to limited space, a regular sized, non-rolling backpack.
- (Optional) Stylus for iPad
The following items are provided for by the school.
- Colored pencils and markers
- White board markers
- Crayons
- Pink erasers
- 40, #2 Ticonderoga Tri-Write pencils, sharpened
- Liquid glue and glue stick
- Four folders
- Water color paints
2026 – 2027 School Supplies List
Second Grade
Please have the following for the first day of school
- Due to limited space, a regular sized, non-rolling backpack is very strongly preferred
- One small pencil box
- 40, #2 Pencils, sharpened
- Four large erasers
- One set of colored pencils
- One set of crayons (24 or more)
- One set of colored markers
- Pack of highlighters
- One pair of safety scissors
- 8 glue sticks
- One bottle of glue – clear is preferable
- One folder to hold papers – not three ring or thin plastic
- One box of tissue for classroom use
- 2 Expo Markers (odorless)
- One package of fun pencils or fun erasers for the class treat box
- Headphones in a Ziploc bag with your child’s name written on it
- Two Black Sharpies
- 1 pack of wide ruled lined paper
- Please no hand-held pencil sharpeners
Items that you will need to keep at home for study time:
- Addition and Subtraction flashcards to keep at home for practice – online apps if you prefer

Third Grade
Please have the following items for the first day of school. Some items are meant for the individual student, and some items will contribute to classroom supply. Throughout the school year, we may need your help replenishing some supplies.
• Regular sized backpack
• One plastic expandable/multi-file folder with 7-9 sections (large enough to store 8½” x 11″ paper) for homework. Please print clearly (or type) and label the tabs in this order: Homework, Weekly Newsletter, Study Guides, School Flyers, To Teacher, Planner
• 3 boxes of tissue
• 1 package of Clorox wipes
• 50 #2 pencils (sharpened)
• 1 Highlighter
• 1 package of college-ruled lined paper
• 1 glue stick
• 1 pair of children’s scissors
• 2 dry erase markers
• Markers and colored pencils
• 1 pencil pouch (no bigger than 5×8 inches)
• 3 pocket folders
• 1 composition notebook
Other optional items (each classroom’s needs are different; please ask your child’s teacher at the beginning of the school year)
• Store-bought recess snacks (granola bars, goldfish, crackers, etc.)
• Small water bottles
• Prize box items (stickers, candy, small fidget toys, etc.)

Please have the following for the first day of school. Throughout the school year, you may need to replenish your supply. Please put your child’s name on as many items as possible.
Homeroom
• Due to limited space, a regular sized, non-rolling backpack is very strongly preferred.
• 40, #2 Pencils, sharpened
• Pencil Sharpener (hand held; no electric sharpener)
• Four black sharpies
• Three different colored highlighters
• Colored pencils AND no-bleed markers
• Three packages of college ruled paper
• Two large boxes of tissue
• One pencil pouch to be kept inside of their backpacks
• Dry erase markers and eraser (a small sock will do)
• Mrs. Henderson’s homeroom- one box of gallon bags
• Mrs. Henry’s homeroom- one box of quart bags
